Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday

A giant snow lion, a circus adventure into space and the world’s smallest nightclub… get ready for a wonderfully unexpected start to Christmas in Stockport!

Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday returns for its fourth year, bringing more than 200 performers and over 50 free shows to the town centre for an afternoon of festive fun.

From larger-than-life puppets and daring circus to mischievous comedy and live music, there’ll be surprises around every corner.

A town full of surprises

Meet the majestic giant Snow Lion, look out for dancing elves and towering stiltwalkers, and join Over The Moon for a circus adventure into space.

Get hands-on with Hydropunk, a playful water-powered spectacle packed with pipes, pumps, sprays and puzzles or step into The Miniscule of Sound – The World’s Smallest Nightclub for a little party with a big personality.

Festive bands and local community performers will bring plenty of Christmas cheer, while Juba do Leão and Katumba will fill the streets with Brazilian-inspired drumming.

With entertainment across Merseyway, Suffragette Square, The Underbanks, Market Place, Redrock and Warren Street, follow the music and explore everything Stockport has in store.

Stay for the spectacular finale

The afternoon builds to a showstopping parade featuring over 100 drummers and the official Christmas lights switch-on at 4.45pm.

Come into town, enjoy the free shows, pick up some Christmas gifts and stay to see Stockport officially launch the festive season.
