Totally Stockport Puts Out Call for Creativity

Stockport Business Improvement District launches marketing tender for new campaign

The team behind Stockport’s Business Improvement District (BID), Totally Stockport, is on the hunt for a marketing agency to deliver a fresh and memorable campaign to drive awareness of the town.

Undergoing a £1 billion programme of  regeneration and hailed by the Sunday Times in 2024 as the best place to live in the North West, Stockport is changing. Now in its second term, Totally Stockport is seeking to engage an dynamic agency who can deliver a compelling creative campaign to attract visitors in a bold, alternative and unconventional way.

Totally Stockport are encouraging agencies to pitch ideas which will increase both footfall and dwell time of weekend visitors and frequent users of the town and challenge existing perceptions of Stockport town centre through a predominantly digital campaign.

Shaun Freeman-Jones from Totally Stockport, said: “This is the first time we (as Totally Stockport) have allocated a budget of this level to a place-making marketing campaign. It presents a huge opportunity for agencies of all shapes and sizes to apply to work with our open-minded team who want to trial an innovative and out of the ordinary campaign that entices people to spend, dwell and most importantly build a sense of pride in their local town centre.

“The brief has been intentionally left open to allow agencies to apply their own personal stamp to the campaign and encourage creative thinking and quirky methodology.”
