Vernon Building Society has opened voting for its Community Stars fund. Supporters and members of the public can choose from 37 local not-for-profit organisations and charities. The groups with the most votes will share the latest £2,000 fund for the third quarter of 2022.

What is ‘Community Stars’?

Community Stars is Vernon’s brand-new community funding scheme to help local charities and not-for-profit groups across the Stockport borough.

It runs all year around, to help more local groups, more often.

The Society wants to reach as many not-for-profit groups as possible across the borough, from large established charities to smaller grassroots organisations.

Vernon will be offering a share of its £12,000 annual fund to Community Stars every quarter, chosen by its members, colleagues, and the public throughout the year.

How to vote

You can vote for the not-for-profits closest to your heart at http://www.thevernon.co.uk/community-stars/

Voting opens on 1st August 2022 and closes on the 26th September 2022.

The not-for-profit groups will be announced on 30th September 2022.

How to apply

It’s not too late to apply on behalf of a local group, and they’ll be entered from the next round of Community Stars in the fourth quarter of this year.

Vernon has made the entry process as easy as possible, so local groups only need to apply once to be in with a chance to be awarded a portion of the fund throughout the year.
